The Champaign County Children’s Advocacy Center (the “CAC”) is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information gathered, including visitors to our website at www.champaigncac.com . This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) governs how we treat the Personal Information that we collect and receive from you in connection with your use of the SMS service (the “Service”) or the website donation link, which we make available to you through a third-party service provider. Collection & Use of Personal Information
The CAC collects personal information provided to us voluntarily by consumers. Through your use of the Service, we will receive Personal Information through our third-party service provider. Personal Information is the information that individually identifies you, such as your mobile phone number that you provided when signing up for the Service, any user or screen name that you select in connection with the Service, any comments or feedback regarding the Service that you send to us, or any other information that you choose to include in messages you send through the Service. When you send messages via the Service, we will also collect your messaging history and any information included in those messages.
We may also collect Personal Information about you using cookies or similar technologies. Cookies are pieces of information that are stored by your browser on the hard drive or memory of your device. Cookies enable personalization of your experience on the Service.
Use of Email Address
When you donate to the CAC you will be asked to provide your email address. Email addresses received from donors are only available to the employees managing this information for the purposes of contacting you.
The Champaign County CAC will only use your email address to send information about the CAC.
How We Protect Your Personal Information
Your personal information is contained in secured networks, and it is the policy of the CAC to keep that information confidential. We do not share your information with third-party vendors or organizations.
Personal Information from Children
The Champaign County CAC (the “CAC”) does not seek to collect personal information about children through our website. Online users who are under the age of 13 should ask their parent or legal guardian for assistance when using the site and should not submit any personal information through SMS service or the website. For example, users under the age of 13 should not make donations to the CAC. Any personal information collected from a child under the age of 13 will be deleted. No mobile or personal information will be shared or sold to third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. SMS Terms of Service
Use of the Champaign County Children’s Advocacy Center (the “CAC”) text message service (the “Service”) is subject to the following Terms of Service.
These terms constitute a legal agreement (the “Agreement”). Please read them carefully.
By agreeing to these Terms of Service and providing us with your mobile phone number when you opt-in to the Service, you authorize the Champaign County Children’s Advocacy Center to contact you by text message to your mobile phone number using an automatic telephone dialing system or device, or any other computer assisted technology as applicable.
The CAC will allow you to the opportunity to opt-in to SMS services at the time of your in-person appointment. The opt-in message received will be “Text Join to sign up to receive Notifications from the Champaign County Children’s Advocacy Center.
You can cancel the Service at any time by texting “STOP” . After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. Once you receive the unsubscribed message, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, contact the CAC at 217-384-1266.
If at any time you forget the keywords that are supported to opt-in or opt-out, text “HELP”. After you send the SMS message “HELP” to us, we will respond with instructions on how to use our Service as well as how to unsubscribe.
All phone carriers may not be able to deliver SMS messages. Please check with your phone provider for more details. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. The Champaign County Children’s Advocacy Center is not liable for the cost of such messages. You may receive multiple messages. For questions about your text plan or data plan, contact your wireless provider.
You understand that anyone with access to your mobile phone may be able to view the messages you receive when using the Service, and you agree that the Champaign County Children’s Advocacy Center will not be liable to you if this occurs.
You understand that you are not required to consent to the Services to receive any other services from the CAC.
